Level 2 Safeguarding Children

This course enables individuals who work within an early years setting to understand safeguarding children. 

The course is mapped to the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018), Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) (2023), Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework (2021), The Education Act 2002, The Prevent Duty (2015), Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006, Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR and Local Safeguarding Children Partnerships (LSCPs).

By the end of this course, the learner will understand:

• How to safeguard children
• Recognising signs of abuse
• How to respond to suspected or alleged abuse
• The national and local context of safeguarding and protection from abuse
• Ways to reduce the likelihood of abuse
• How to recognise and report unsafe practises
• Principles for online safety
