This course enables individuals to understand mental health.
The course is mapped to National Occupational Standards (NOS) in Mental Health, The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Framework, The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Guidelines, The British Psychological Society (BPS) Competency Framework, Ofqual Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), Mental Health Act 1983/2007 and British Standards Institution Guidance.
By the end of this course, the learner will understand:
- The types of mental ill health
- The impact of mental ill health on individuals and others in their social network
- The legal context of mental health
- The social context of mental ill health
- Supporting individuals' mental well-being and mental health
- The importance of early identification of mental health conditions
- The reasonable adjustments which may be necessary in health and care delivery for an individual living with a mental health condition
