Fluids and nutrition
This course enables individuals who work within health and social care to meet Standard 8 of the Care Certificate - Fluids and nutrition. The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors.
Developed jointly by Skills for Care, Health Education England and Skills for Health. The Care Certificate is made up of the 15 minimum standards that should be covered if you are 'new to care' and should form part of a robust induction programme.
Standard 8 - Fluids and nutrition
8.1 Understand the principles of hydration, nutrition and food safety
8.2 Support individuals to have access to fluids in accordance with their plan of care
8.3 Support individuals to have access to food and nutrition in accordance with their plan of care
Typical duration: 1.5 hours
Delivery: Level 1 courses must be booked as minimum 3 courses in 1 day
All course prices are for groups of up to 12 delegates and include course material and digital certificates valid for three years.
