Duty of care

This course enables individuals who work within health and social care to meet Standard 3 of the Care Certificate - Duty of care. The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors.

Developed jointly by Skills for Care, Health Education England and Skills for Health. The Care Certificate is made up of the 15 minimum standards that should be covered if you are 'new to care' and should form part of a robust induction programme.

Standard 3 - Duty of care

3.1 Understand how duty of care contributes to safe practise
3.2 Understand the support available for addressing dilemmas that may arise about duty of care
3.3 Deal with comments and complaints
3.4 Deal with incidents, errors and near misses
3.5 Deal with confrontation and difficult situations

Typical duration: 1.5 hours

Delivery: Level 1 courses must be booked as minimum 3 courses in 1 day

All course prices are for groups of up to 12 delegates and include course material and digital certificates valid for three years.
